Aspen To Celebrate the 4th

The Aspen Chamber Resort Association (ACRA) is pleased to announce this year’s Independence Day celebrations. The City of Aspen and ACRA have partnered to offer the Annual Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration, which has been reimagined this year to provide a fun celebration with the public's safety in mind.

The Parade Reimagined as Stationary, Interactive Exhibits

Rather than a traditional parade, The City of Aspen will feature the parade participants at various stationary exhibit locations throughout the downtown core and will invite the public to stroll through the “stationary exhibits” at their leisure from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

There will be different blocks where exhibits will be located including locations with animals, a kids’ zone, and nonprofits. This exhibit format allows the public to move throughout the core and experience various activation areas, providing entertainment while supporting pedestrian flow. The Aspen core will be closed from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. so that the public will be able to walk from one station to the next. Participation is free and open to all local organizations, businesses, individuals, and groups.

The stationary parade theme is “Stars, Stripes & Aspen Forever”, and all exhibits must align with this theme. Participants are encouraged to be creative with displays, costumes, and activities that promote their organization, while safely providing 4th of July entertainment. All participants must register with ACRA by submitting the form below with a signed liability waiver. Space is limited, and registration is open until 5 p.m. on June 28th or until registration reaches maximum capacity (whichever is sooner).

The health and safety of the community and visitors continues to be a priority as the summer season begins. ACRA and the City of Aspen are happy that the community can celebrate Independence Day in the spirit of the holiday, albeit in a modified manner.

4th of July Evening Events

Due to fire concerns, there will not be fireworks this year. Details for alternatives are currently being finalized and will be announced shortly.

Stationary Parade Grand Marshal

The Aspen Fourth of July Parade Committee extends to the community the opportunity to nominate a deserving person for the Grand Marshal of this year’s 4th of July Parade. The person being nominated should either live or work in Aspen and have contributed to the community in an overwhelming way over the past years. To submit a nomination for Grand Marshal, please visit: https://aspenchamber.org/events/4th-of-july/grand-marshal

Following is a link to the 4th of July page on ACRA’s website. The information will be updated regularly, as local organizations finalize events. https://aspenchamber.org/events/4th-July
