RF Rams Going To State Championship

After two goals by Ross Barlow including the game-winner in overtime, the Roaring Fork Rams boys soccer team will play for the state championship for the first time in school history.

The Rams bested the tournaments top seed Salida Spartans 2-1 and will now face the 2nd seeded Kent Denver Sun Devils at 11am, Saturday morning at Dicks Sporting Goods Park.

The semi-final match-up was scoreless until Salida took the lead with under 8 minutes to play. As the clock ticked down to the final 90 seconds, the sophomore Barlow found himself wide open in front of the net with the ball. He tied the game with just 1:14 on the clock. That pushed the game into overtime when Barlow was awarded a Penalty Kick. He hammered it home to send the Rams to the Ship.
